It's time for another check in on what we've got in house for review products. Since my last check in, I've added our reviews for Magic Stix, A la Carte Projects File Folder Games, and Super Beads--did you check them out yet? We have some curriculum, a movie, some digital books, and more! Let's see what items we are checking out right now--maybe one of them is something you've been looking at!
UPCOMING REVIEWS FOR APRIL 2018
An all inclusive open and go program for studying Music Appreciation is the name of the game with this product. As a musically minded person, I have really wanted to incorporate music appreciation in our schooling--in fact we DID earlier this year but I sort of petered out because I had to create it all myself. Needless to say I jumped at a chance to review a Music Appreciation curriculum. I look forward to sharing my thoughts on it when the review goes LIVE the week of April 10, 2018.
2. Princess Cut from Watchman Pictures
Every now and then I get a review that is more for me than the boys. The movie Princess Cut is totally going to be one of those movies--because it's a romance! I look forward to doing a "girls' night" and maybe getting together with my mom to watch it. The review for the movie will go LIVE the week of April 11, 2018.
3. Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology from Apologia
3. Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology from Apologia
I am ALWAYS thrilled to have a chance to review the science curriculum from Apologia. Apologia is my #1 favorite science curriculum and we are on our second complete curriculum in our regular homeschooling. I have had my eye on the Human Anatomy/Physiology curriculum and almost got it for this 2018 school year before we opted to go with Chemistry and Physics. Needless to say I am thrilled to have gotten picked to review the Human Anatomy and Physiology curriculum and will be reviewing it with the Junior and regular notebooks since my boys are in each age range. I even splurged and purchased the science experiment set that goes with it for extended exploration. The review for this curriculum goes LIVE until the week of April 16, 2018.
4. Adaptive Math Curriculum Online from A+ Interactive Math (by A+ TutorSoft Inc.)
We are reviewing this math curriculum for my youngest (age 7). With this program, you pick a grade level for your child--then it gives them a placement tests for each of the sections within the grade level math. This placement test determines whether or not your child has passed the skill or not. If they do not, the program then gives customized lessons for the skills that need learned. We've reviewed A+ TutorSoft before, but only with my older son. The review for this curriculum will go LIVE the week of April 23rd, 2018.
5. Heroes of History Unit Study Curriculum from YWAM Publishing
Oh how we've loved doing these reviews in the past. This will be our FOURTH time reviewing a unit study from this company. We've previously done Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone, and Orville Wright--I was surprised when my son picked Laura Ingalls Wilder this time around. We will share our review the week of April 30th, 2018.
Other products being reviewed by my team this month include Creation Illustrated, Homeschool Diploma, HelpTeaching.com, and Planet 316.
6. Weigl Publishing
This company produces digital books with multi-media bonuses. We were give three different types of books to look through--two for science, and one for fun. This review will go LIVE the week of May 1, 2018.
7. Reading Kingdom
Are you looking for a comprehensive online reading program? One that assesses your child's skills and places them in the right level for reading, typing, spelling, and writing? Then keep your eyes out for my upcoming review of Reading Kingdom. This program teaches kids 4-10 how to read and write with comprehension at a 3rd grade level (Lexile 750). Needless to say that was ideal for my 7 year old who is in between 2nd and 3rd grade right now. How will this compare to some of the other online reading programs we've worked with? Make sure you come and check our review when it goes LIVE the week of May 7th, 2018.
8. Books from Kayla Jarmon
A collection of three digital books (A Boy and His Dog, Dying is Part of This World, and Don't Forget Me) to read with my boys. Review goes LIVE the week of May 8th, 2018.
9. Kids Email
My boys were both thrilled to have Kids Email back to review! They are both really into typing, and have been wanting to start sending emails again to their relatives and friends. I like the fact that this program promises to keep their email information safe and free from advertisors or other data buyers--also allowing me to see what comes in and out of their accounts! I am curious to see if any changes have been made since we last reviewed it. Make sure to check out our review when it goes LIVE the week of May 14, 2018!
