Time for a New Adventure!

It is hard to believe, but Seth is getting ready to go into Kindergarten in just a little over a month. (sob!) After much discussion, John and I decided that we are going to be homeschooling the boys. (gulp!) We just do NOT like the way that public school is heading and with my training in Education in college mixed with my job as a substitute teacher I can comfortably say that I think it's a good decision for us. We don't live a *good* school district which is one of the MANY reasons we are choosing to go this route.

I've been spending the last week pouring over homeschooling curriculum's, trying to decide which one will work *best* for Seth...of course as any homeschool family knows, choosing a curriculum is almost like playing Russian Roulette! But one of the joys of homeschooling is that you CAN CHANGE at any time if it's not working. So I'm just trying to take into consideration what WE want him to learn as well as the way he seems to learn (he's one of those who likes visual, audio AND hands on). I've pretty much narrowed it down to an all inclusive curriculum (MY FATHER'S WORLD) with an additional Language Arts unit called FIVE IN A ROW (or FIAR) which is a GREAT curriculum from what I've seen in terms of using it WITH something else.

I've decided to continue to use this blog not just for updates on the boys, but updates on our adventure in homeschooling too. I hope you will enjoy this new ride WITH us...It's very exciting and we can't wait to get started!

10 months old!

Can you believe the little monkey is 10 months old? Shocking isn't it?! But yep, the little monkey turned 10 months old yesterday! He had a slow start compared to Seth in regards to what he could/would do...but these past few weeks he caught up big time!

He can crawl like a pro. He cruises EVERYTHING including walls super fast. He finally accepted the concept of chewing and enjoys little things like Puffs and those yummy veggie stick chips. He downs jars of food or things of yogurt no problem. But when it comes to talking...sigh...still no "mama". Daddy. Hey. Yay. Kee-Ka (kitty cat). Hey Kee (hey kitty). But Mama? Nope. oh well! LOL!

We had a pediatrician appointment today and he's slimming down--most likely due to his increased activity. He's 22lbs 15 oz...but 29" long! So he's very tall. He's just perfect!

Seth and Justin are bestest friends and they play together very well. No one is as funny as Big Brother!

It's hard to believe that in just two months he'll be a year old...where DOES time go?
